Beer Can Chicken Rub
“Easy and great tasting Chicken a la Can!” All Natural, Gluten Free and Low Sodium.
For the tastiest chicken on the grill, just follow these instructions:
- Open a nice cold beer can (lagers work well but it’s up to you) and drink or pour off about half while prepping your bird. Turn on or light your grill to medium heat. Push coals from the middle, or turn off middle burners, for indirect heat. Or, heat oven to 375 degrees.
- Remove and discard giblets/neck and rinse chicken inside and out. Pat dry with paper towels and brush with light olive oil (or your preference). Rub inside and out with MPF Beer Can Chicken Rub using enough to coat well. Set aside.
- Place an empty beer can on a solid surface and pick the chicken up by legs/sides with the ends pointing down. Slide open cavity over the beer can. It will balance like a tripod as shown in the diagram. Transfer to the center of the grate or oven.
- Close grill and cook for approximately 1 1/4 hours, or until the internal temperature registers 165 F in the breast and 180 F in the thigh. Remove from grill or and let rest for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
By the way, this is also a great rub to deep fry or smoke your Thanksgiving bird!
